I enjoyed a wonderful 9 hours sleep before a leisurely breakfast and then a bit of pottering on my bike before heading out with Marc and Steve to collect Mel and ride to Luchon for lunch.
We popped in to the bike shop for Marc to get a 34t cassette put on and to look for bells for our bikes. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the latter. Then we went in to our ‘usual’ cafe in town and had a delicious steak frites washed down with a beer and followed by tarte de pomme.
We then cycled back down the valley taking a little detour via Mauleon Barousse and down to Saint Bertrand de Comminges – a beautiful Cathedral on top of a hill with a village built around it. We had crepes and coffee before returning to Luscon to get ready for dinner.
A nice easy spin of the legs on the rest day. If it’s good enough for tour riders it’s good enough for us.
